Product Owner Finance Automation

Building Products at Travix

As Product Owner in Finance you will be responsible for driving automation and simplification of finance systems and processes, developing products and features that support the business, and deliver added-value to Finance. You will work with teams of developers to innovate on the systems, processes and features used both internally by our employees, as well as by our clients. At Travix we work in an agile way with the Scrum framework. We move fast and deliver features in every sprint.

Your ability to drive improvements forward at a fast pace, and respond quickly and confidently to change is essential for success in this role. This position comes with significant responsibility and we are looking for candidates with high potential. Business awareness, scalability, great communication skills and strong business sense are a must. As a Product Owner you will play a pivotal role in realising Travix’ ambition of being best in flights in the global Online Travel Agent market.

 

The challenge 

  • Set the vision and strategy to deliver improvements to Finance systems and automation and simplification of Finance processes

  • Test and learn in order to deliver new features and improvements

  • Iterate on existing products or develop new features in support of the business and the Finance department

  • Find scalable ways to deliver best-in-class processes

  • Liaise with the Financial Team to ensure a reliable interface and accounting and reporting through Unit4

  • Maintain & prioritize backlog, taking into account business value, Finance priorities, user/partner impact, critical infrastructure and compliance

  • Take a data-driven approach, using both qualitative and quantitative methods to generate, validate and evaluate ideas

  • Liaise with key company stakeholders including Senior Management, Finance and IT teams and local managers to make sure projects are implemented successfully and their impact on other areas of the business is understood

  • Perform reviews & retrospective with the developers and stakeholders on deliverables as well as to continuously improve way of working & implementation cycles

  • Ensure deliverables are compliant and are meeting technical & departmental requirements

  • Follow (and improve) the product development process based on Scrum Methodology with your own Scrum Team

 What you bring to the table 

  • An ability to translate business needs into small developments, and prioritize them according to business value

  • Strong finance & business focus and the ability to assess the true value of your developments

  • Experience with the SCRUM methodology

  • Extensive knowledge of finance systems and processes. Experience with Unit4 would be an advantage

  • Data driven, customer focused, proactive, creative and innovative

  • Experience using both qualitative and quantitative methodologies for project design and analysis

  • Pragmatic and results-focused; driven to manage projects full cycle

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Finance, Business, IT or Economics

  • 5 years of experience delivering successful and innovative consumer internet products as Product Owner

  • Great stakeholder management

  • Ability to quickly adapt to rapidly evolving and changing business priorities, along with delivering programs leveraging technology and innovation

  • A result driven team player

  • Great communication and presentation skills

  • Fluent written and spoken English is essential, Dutch is a plus
