Job Purpose

Reporting to the Senior Accounting Manager as Junior GL Accountant you will be part of the Accounting & Reporting Team in Amsterdam, who handles daily activities for a number of processes and multiple entities. You perform the month end closing in an accurate and timely manner. Besides the daily routines, there is a strong focus on improving processes. 

We are looking for a self starter, who is detailed-oriented, but can also take a step back to understand overall figures and processes.  

The Finance Team is a group of appr. 50 enthusiastic people in various locations. The Junior GL Accountant is a position in which you can grow based on your own drive and ambition. 

**For this position a certificate of good conduct (VOG) is necessary, as you will be working with confidential data.

Key Responsibilities

• Month end close for multiple processes and entities in a complex Online environment
• Day to day finance and accounting to ensure that financial accounting is in line with tax, legal and internal procedures
• Analyze of financial data and accounts in order to prepare reports e.g. balance sheet, profit and loss statements
• Keeping specifications and sub-administrations up-to-date at all times in order to be accountable for the reliability of reports
• Intercompany account reconciliations with group companies
• Works closely with and supports the Financial Planning & Analysis Department during month closing as well as cooperating with Treasury, Sales and other colleagues across the organization
• Actively drive continuous process improvements and innovations

What you bring to the table

• At least Bachelor degree (or equivalent) in Finance, Accounting or similar. Accounting qualification is a plus but not a requirement
• Up to 3 years GL experience in a multi-entity environment
• Proficient in Excel
• Takes ownership of assignments and responsibilities
• Strong team-player, effective communicator who is pro-active, dynamic and willing to step in and help out when necessary
• Accurate, analytical and an independent worker with multitask talent; jump from one task to another and enjoy doing so :-)
• Excellent time management skills and ability to work on several projects and prioritize work
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Curious to learn more and with continuous improvement attitude
• Working experience in an Online company is an advantage
• Fluent in English
• Full time available
