Job Purpose

We are looking for a Senior Automation Engineer to provide unified automation and tooling experience across the entire organisation. As a skilled software engineer with passion for automation you’ll help our “Systems Engineering” “Corporate” and “Security” teams to bring automation to the next level (establish practices/conventions across commonly used tooling, engage engineering teams to contribute and improve on top of existing framework). 

You will own our CI/CD stack (planning, future development, support) - 3000 builds a week, 500+ pipelines, dynamic load, interesting integration projects. Close collaboration with engineers from Google/Skyscanner/ will make it interesting even for the seasoned engineer or will give plenty room for you to grow as an expert.  

As a senior automation engineer you will work inside of the Systems Engineering (DevOp) team. The team is already actively working in the area of infrastructure automation and infrastructure as a code and would like to expand the same vision across the entire organisation. We expect you to focus on automation and tooling

We expect you to actively engage in a team life - planning, postmortems, sharing best practices, questioning status quo, removing obstacles and as result enabling the rest of the Engineering at Travix.

Key Responsibilities

  • Infra/corporate/security enabler - help Engineering teams to establish and maintain quality of automation 
  • CI/CD - maintain and develop CI/CD related stack, tools and core extensions 
  • Package repositories
  • Continuously engage with different engineering teams to identify possible areas of automation
  • Embrace and grow automation mentality across engineering

What you bring to the table

  • Software engineering - 5-6 years of experience (Golang - must, python - nice to have, general experience with different programming languages is a plus)
  • Experience or interest in owning and maintaining dynamic scalable CI/CD systems (deploying to k8s, 100+ pipelines)
  • Mentorship skills (ready collaborate with product teams, engage people) - mandatory
  • Broad interest/experience in automation: CI/CD automation, experience in automation around Identity Systems is a plus (okta, auth0), experience with automation around Active Directly is a plus, automation around Source Code Management  (bitbucket, github) systems is a plus
  • Not afraid of Ops work with focus on automating manual work and removing obstacles
  • Cloud experience - strong user, experience in automation is preferred 
  • Kubernetes and containerisation experience - strong user is mandatory, experience in automation is preferred
  • Ability to work independently - mandatory
  • Terraform/helm - strong user is a plus
  • Experience with Linux - mandatory
  • Ability to document and communicate your work
