This exciting announcement coincides with the 22nd anniversary of the online travel agency. The name of’s new mascot Tjiep is a Dutch play on the English word “cheap.” The creation and development of the endearing yellow bird were expertly executed by the Amsterdam-based advertising agency Twofish. “Travel service advertising tends to be quite predictable, with endless images of beautiful people on white sand beaches,” said Russ Pinney, Director at Twofish. “We saw an opportunity to do something different, and we’re thrilled that the team had the imagination to pick Tjiep up and run with him.”
